Our society is constantly changing. Some may approve, some may not, but it is an undeniable fact. The speed of change is a phenomenon unto itself. In past centuries change was not so prevalent. People tended to remain in their place, and life went unchanged for generations. Changes were mostly minor and their impact was felt only over long periods of time.
But since the beginning of the industrial revolution things have changed radically. And the changes nowadays are occurring much more quickly, almost continuously. For the first time in human history, we see almost unbridgeable generation gaps over a single decade.
All evolution is change. But contrary to natural evolution, which takes its time, societal evolution is happening in front of our eyes at breakneck speed. People have to adapt quickly and this brings about stress.
Stress is not news; its prevalence is. It is a very vast term, with rather vague definitions. In the modern age it is manifested as adrenal fatigue.
What is adrenal fatigue?
The term "adrenal fatigue" was coined in 1998 by James Wilson, PhD, a naturopath and expert in alternative medicine. IT was describes as a "group of related signs and symptoms (a syndrome) that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level."
It is usually associated with intense stress; it may also follow chronic infections like bronchitis, flu, or pneumonia.
The strange thing about adrenal fatigue is that it cannot be detected through regular methods; blood tests will not reveal anything. Moreover, people may not display any physical signs of illness even though they may still feel tired and "colorless." One of the more evident symptoms is being constantly tired despite having slept. (Another strange symptom is a craving for salty snacks).
What is the immediate cause?
The theory goes that if you experience long-term stress, the production of cortisol by the adrenal glands decreases. (Cortisol is a steroid hormone that regulates a wide range of processes throughout the body, including metabolism, immune response and the body’s response to stress). So adrenal fatigue sets in.
What is the cure?
Due to the fact that there is no test for it, and the symptoms are rather vague, adrenal fatigue is not considered a bona fide illness by the medical profession. But the suggested treatment for healthy adrenal function is a diet low in sugar, caffeine, and junk food, and nutritional supplements that include vitamins and minerals, like Vitamins B5, B6, and B12, Vitamin C, Magnesium…
Natural energy drinks may supply the above-mentioned needs because their drink ingredients include most of these vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, natural energy drinks tend to use natural sweeteners among their drink ingredients, like stevia instead of sugar, and natural caffeine.
Natural energy drinks, manufactured from a natural, well-balanced beverage base, can help redress the imbalance cause by adrenal fatigue.
